Two years of work by teachers, pupils, parents and local businesses have resulted in a new wildlife garden at a Shropshire school.

Most of the work for the garden at Pontesbury primary school was done over the last five months. The garden, officially opened by Colin Preston, director of the Shropshire Wildlife Trust, will be used as a resource for lessons as well as a focus for the school's environment club run by teacher Liz Davies. The garden includes a butterfly border and pond which is already home to frogs, toads and newts.
